Stands for Uniform Tire Quality Grading. An industry standard that is used for passenger car tires to measures their treadwear, temperature resistance and traction.
The rate at which a tire wears when tested in a controlled environment.
A rating of the ability of a tire to stop on wet pavement (asphalt or concrete) when measured in a controlled environment.
A rating for tire resistance to the generation of heat at speed. Ratings are A, B, and C. A is considered the best, and only tires graded A or B are allowed to be sold in the USA
